Meet Your Visiting Dietitian
Melissa is a Registered Dietitian and visits Regis throughout the semester. With a BS in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University, 2011, and a BS in Applied Human Nutrition at Mount Saint Vincent University, 2016, Melissa recognizes the constant weight loss pressures and diet misinformation. Melissa is committed to a weight-neutral approach to care with a focus on improving health and performance by helping students make realistic and achievable goals while supporting behavior changes. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Contact Melissa if you are looking for assistance with navigating the dining program or guidance on a healthy approach to eating.
Dietary Accommodations and Food Allergies
The team at Regis Dining Services believes all students should have access to nutritious, tasty meals. We will guide you through the dining options available in the Regis Cafe and LSC. Additionally, students with dietary accommodations can pre-order their meals in our GrubHub app for pick-up at the Regis Café.
Register with the Office of Accessibility Services
Meals prepared for students with dietary accommodations require individual preparation and cooking. Therefore, this service is only available for students who have registered with the Office of Accessibility Services.
Support
Once registered, we will reach out to set up a meeting so we can understand your needs. We will take you on a guided tour of the dining locations and give you access to the Accommodation Menu on the GrubHub App. This includes meeting the culinary team who can address any allergy-related questions and concerns. It’s an opportunity for us to thoroughly review available food options. We can provide additional support after the initial meeting as needed.
Self-Advocate
Your needs are our priority. And no one is better to advocate for these needs than you. Ask questions, let your server know of your needs, and communicate with us on a regular basis so we can know you and serve you to the best of our abilities. We continuously monitor our processes to ensure safety and care for individuals with food allergies. Throughout the year, the Dining Team is available to assist you.
